GE announced a research partnership to develop the world’s largest 3D printer to streamline the production of key components of Haliade-X offshore wind turbine with sand molds!
It will be able to print wind turbine parts that can weigh up to 60 tonnes with a diameter of 9.5 metres.
It will reduce manufacturing time from 10 weeks without the 3D printer to only 2 weeks.
The first trials are planned for the first quarter of 2022.
